The Portage Learning division at Geneva College is unique in that it is not a degree program but rather a select group of online college courses to serve students in need of prerequisite requirements for their program of intent. Students are, therefore, visiting transient vs. degree-seeking, and the College is then considered the host institution; this means no application process.
Once you have registered, you can go back to the home page and select the login button at the top right. This will take you to your student dashboard where your course(s) are listed; once your instructor is assigned, their name will appear next to the course and you can begin the class. While in the student dashboard, note the following important features/tabs:
1) My Documents: here you will find your receipt of tuition payment, proof of enrollment, course syllabus, and when the course is completed, your unofficial transcript will be available for print/download.
2) My Messages: this is the forum by which your instructor(s) will communicate with you and you with them; it is important to check messages daily.
3) Contact Us: this is your communication with our IT department in the event of technical difficulties; there is also a short video describing some of the most common errors; i.e., how to avoid getting locked out of an exam.
4) Request a Transcript: once your course grade has been finalized, you may request your unofficial transcript to be emailed to your school(s) and/or request an official transcript to be mailed.
